Owner/Creator Jakissia Robinson of “Fa’Nique Crochet Creations” embarked on her crochet journey as a young girl. Growing up Jakissia found her crafty niche by realizing how much she loved to use her hands. Even though Jakissia wanted to be “Hair Stylist”, crocheting was found first. Ms. Robinson credits her two aunts Patricia & Mildred (whom now is deceased) for putting the hooks in her hands at the tender age of 14. During this time Jakissia became captivated after witnessing how quick her aunts crocheted. Ms. Robinson was even more eager to learn how to be as swift with crochets as her two aunts were. Through progression crocheting became and hobby. Jakissia would crochet various throws without the use of patterns. Unfortunately, Jakissia never learned how to read patterns. Ms. Robinson walked away from crocheting and decided to join the workforce. Consequently crochet was her first love. After the birth of her son in 2009, Ms. Robinson decided to start a business for herself. Additionally with thorough research she found videos from YouTube where she discovered crochet in the fashion world. Determination was the driving force for Jakissia to teach herself how to properly read patterns. All in all Jakissia got her “Crojo” back and created a business that she can be very proud of. Previously around 2013/2014 I found myself an instant fan of her art. Never before have I seen anything like her work. Featured below are just a few photos of how talented this young lady really is.
